Ibanez SRMS806 Active Electronics Issue

Ok - I bought an Ibanez SRMS806 from Sweetwater Music in March of this year. I don't play it through an amp much and have now gone through 3 batteries in the electronics. I sent an email to Ibanez support 2 weeks ago and have heard nothing back from them. When I called initially, it sent me to a machine eventually (2 1/2 minutes later) and then said the mailbox was full.

It may be COVID-19 related, but has anyone else had problems recently with Ibanez support? I had an issue with a defective bridge on my SR506 a few years ago and they took care of the problem (it took about 6-8 weeks to get a new bridge).

Thanks for your time!

Are you unplugging your cable from the bass when you're not playing? The output jack as as the on-off switch for the active electronics. The EQ bypass switch on this bass does not shut off the battery power to preamp.
The other possibilities are the output jack is mis-wired, although this should be unlikely on a brand-new bass, or the output jack is defective.

No the bass guitar has not been plugged in at all except when I have been playing through an amp, which is not very often. (I practice acoustically a lot in the early morning and late night.) It is definitely draining the battery all the time.
Probably malfunction or miswiring on the input jack, which sometimes does happen. If you could open the electronic cavity to see whether there's a short circuit on the input jack wiring.
