im not one of those people who (like that one guy said) is like a little schoolgirl picking out a prom dress and shoes. i really dont give a crap my preference? not wal mart as long as it has strings and a pickup i will use it

You're maybe thinking of "versus" thread in the Bassists forum.
I'm going back quite a few years here but I could swear at one time the brand vs brand type threads were not allowed.
