Idea

Yeah, an LFO controlling a blender. I don't know of one ready-made in pedal form, but it can be done. The ready-made units that can do that are either rackmount or software.

Maybe talk to Mario at Robot Factory, I know he's interested in making some new circuits.

I've got an LFO Mod Box from Mario. I'm guessing that in a larger enclosure he could add a blend circuit. Or you could just hook the Mod Box up to the VBX.
 
Wow, I just saw the LFO box from mario. I wonder what different waveforms would sound like along with it. Hmm...

But I suppose hooking up the LFO box with the VBX would work. But that would be $120 for the LFO, and another $200 for the VBX. Plus it would take up the space of two pedals.
 
Might as well just buy a small modular synth and be done with it. You can have hours and hours of fun just routing a bass signal through it in different ways.

That would be like buying a tank to shoot a chipmonk though. It would make a a big scene coming in, make a hell of a lot of noise and a big falsh, and then make another big mess leaving.

It sure would be fun though.:p

I have very similar idea. I want to mix LFO (or some other noise) with bassline in such a way that LFO would be kind of background with 100% dry bassline on top. I was simply thinking of splitting the clean signal into two paths and then blending them together at the end. To do so I'd need box to route input signal to two outputs (with A/B and A+B mode) and anoter one to blend two signals. Route A would be my "normal" chain of effects. B would act as a background (I could set the level lower).

I'm not really familar with loopers with blend control. My idea of such looper is that clean signal and wet signal influence each other in higher degree than solution mentioned above.

Am I right or not?
 
People are talking about using a CV output from one pedal to the expression input on another (like a LFO generator to the Barge VBX). Is this even possible? I thought with a CV input, like on Moog pedals, the input is expecting +/- 5v to be provided by a CV pedal or LFO etc. With an expression input, the voltage is provided inside the pedal, and varied with a passive expression pedal which is basically just a potentiometer.

You could do that with a Boss LS-2 and a tremolo. Have one 'loop' for your clean tone and another for your effect. If you want the effect loop to pulse put a tremolo in the loop.
 
So I need dual looper that can mix 2 channels in parallel mode. Thanks, dannybuoy. I've checked the LS-2 and it seems that it can do the trick. It aslo has separate volumes for both channels.

Is there other device like this?
 
I'll try to have a clip up of a Holy Stain fuzz -> trem in a blend and you can see if that's what you're looking for. The trem in the HS isn't very choppy but it's hard to do smooth and deep at the same time. Hopefully it will tell you what you want to know.

If I wake up early enough tomorrow to make a simple clip before work it'll be up.

Why not do this the simple way, and blend a dry signal with a effected signal that is passing through a soft tremolo?

LFO controlling blend seems to be overcomplicated for the task.

Except that it would require using a blend, a Tremolo, and whatever I'm looking to slowly blend in and out of my signal. I would rather do it with 2 pedals. The LFO Blender, and the other pedal.

I want the pie, not the cake and ice cream.:smug:
 
The trem idea would work. Just put a Dirt->trem combo in a blend loop. Most midrange->boutique trems have a wave or ramp setting

One trem I always wanted to try was the Voodoo Lab one: Invalid Link Removed
The slope setting can make the trem go from chop to slowly changing apparently. The "vintage" soundclip sounds promising IMO....

If you want EXP control over the speed, then boutique is prolly your only option....
 
I know not everyone likes using a computer in their rig, but let me add that Guitar Rig 3 is able to modulate any control on any effect with an LFO, an envelope proportional to input level, a triggered envelope with ADSR control, or a sequencer. It's really fun.

It also goes much further by allowing the above-mentioned modifiers to control a specified range, while allowing a foot controller to sweep the "center" of the controlled range.
