Ideas for pedalboard

Hey there,

I had my pedal board sounding great, of course I didn't take notes about my original setup before I got a couple of new pedals, and now I am getting noise and lost of volume.
Q: How would you suggest I setup my pedalboard/pedal chain to get clean, noise free, awesome sound out of it?

I will try every suggestion and I will report my opinions about each.

PS: I am waiting on new octave and expression pedals.

How is it powered? Daisychain/wallwart or an isolated power supply(Cioks, Voodoo Labs, MXR Brick, etc)? Do each of the units only require 9 volts? As far as the power supply is concerned, whatever it is, does it provide enough milliamps to cover the draw of the accumulated pedals? I know that’s alot to keep track of, but I learned the hard way myself. As far as signal goes, is each patch cable functioning properly…no shorts? This may sound like a tedious task, but you may have to start all over with your signal flow connections, adding each subsequent pedal one by one until you hit the weakest link in the chain, and then figure it out from there. Are the gate, compressor, and envelope filter fighting each other?

Am using 2x cs12 insulated power supplies and so far everything is 9V.

I have it like this...
Bass...comp...eq...sansamp...smart gate...chorus...envelope...drums...HD stomp...amp
The wah was never part of the chain.

I remember, I put the drums after the sansamp before. Also, I didnt have the eq, I was using the eq from the hx stomp.

Everything about this screams bad patch cable or not-quite-inserted patch cable to me. Check your cable connections. Start from scratch and add one pedal at a time if you have to.

It could be something other than a patch cable - something I'm not thinking of - but it's totally a patch cable (or maybe a loose input/output jack).
