So I'm in an interesting situation and would love any ideas on how to rectify what's going on.
90% of my gigs, i run just a small pedal board and go direct to the FOH. I play in a 5 piece yacht rock type of group so we are not really a loud band. But when we play outdoor gigs i want to go back to playing a big cabinet. For these situations, I plan on playing my Acoustic 408 cab that is wired for 2 ohm. Now in these situations, I use a QSC RMX1450 power amp since it can go down to 2 ohm @ 900w which is more than enough power. I swapped all the speakers out for newer Celestion 300w 15's. It thumps. Hard.
Where I'm having an issue though, On my pedal board my main EQ is a Darkglass Alpha-Omega Ultra. Which is fine and sounds good as long as I don't press the fun distortion button because face melting bass distortion does not fit anywhere in with the music we play with my current group.
My issue is that while it has a master volume, when it goes up, the signal going to the board goes up. I'm looking to add maybe a line driver just to act as a volume between the pedal and the power amp to have a better control over volume for the onstage cabinet the 3 times a year I might actually play a cabinet live.
I don't mind it not being on the board fulltime if its a small pedal I can set off to the side. I just don't know what route to take for this. Any help would be appreciated. Attached is a pic of my current board because everybody likes a nice pedalboard shot lol
