Identify Kid Creole bassist?

Can anyone id the bassist for Kid Creole around 1982? Wikipedia was no help.

August Darnell aka Kid Creole hit the scene big with DR. Buzzards Savanah Band and he played a Ric
Cherchez La Femme:



they had several hits as Dr. Buzzard then around 1980 he started Kid Creole with his brand of funk and brought Carol on board.

I saw The Coconuts on their very first tour opening for the B-52's, and Carol Colman was rock solid. Never fancy, but great. She opted for a career on the production side of recording and concerts but I really enjoyed watching her play.

Too bad a couple people in the crowd were a-holes and one throw a mug at Lori Eastside. Almost hit her, too. Thought she was going to go all Courtney Love on the guy for a second and wouldn't have blamed her in the least.

I remembered the name too. I guess I never heard the band or remember listening to them at the time and I listened to everything then.

What a well rehearsed and tight band. Imagine the expense of taking a band that size on the road these days.

I love the calypso influence in that band. Lots of bands were influenced by reggae in the '80s but an audible calypso influence was extremely rare in any kind of commercially successful act.

YT had 'recommended' me this exact clip just before Christmas (2020), and after clicking on it I recognised the song but had never known it was one of theirs. I ended up re-discovering them, with the full version of this show being my favourite so far I was 12 back then and into bands like AC/DC, Maiden, Whitesnake but also The Police and Adam & the Ants, so Kid Creole and his Coconuts totally were not for me - Interesting how one's tastes change with age

And I got a little surprise when doing some research to find out what's become of them meanwhile, and it turned out a childhood friend of mine whom I'd reconnected with about a year ago is friends with one of the original 'Coconuts' and Kid Creole's now ex-wife Adriana Kaegi; My friend had never heard of this band before, though

Weird! I was just watching this video wondering what kind of bass she was playing. Carol Coleman. The best, most solid, grooviest bassist I've heard and I've heard a lot. Not fancy, but great! I just discovered this band a month ago and I spend so much time watching their Youtube videos. Check out the Lifeboat Party in London one. And I always am captured by the groove Carol and that drummer have, but I blame Carol

Hopefully YouTube will make her a star (posthumously). I just discovered her (I spent the 80s in College studying classical). I currently play my Fender Jazz in a cabaret show and there is much I can learn from her and apply to my current playing. And at 70 yrs.old, that's an exciting prospect.
