Double Bass Identifying a bass

I’ve not seen a back with 4 panels before.
A repair, or manufactured like it?
Anyone seen this before?

You've seen 4-piece backs many times without realizing it.

The reason you haven't realized it is that most builders try to join the wood with some degree of match. The bass in your pic spotlights the joints with contrasting strips. That is unusual but the pic makes it seem intentional rather than the result of a repair.

Well sir, you are absolutely spot on. Reghin Romania.
Unfortunately the table is coming away as is the nut, so unsure whether it’s worth buying. £200 asking price, but will need some work. I don’t know what they’re worth anyway.

Hard to find any European made bass for that price!

When you say the table is coming away, I think you mean there are seam separations between the sides (ribs) and the top. That's an easy fix, so long as the top isn't significantly distorted or damaged. Same goes for the nut coming away. Often the nut isn't glued at all, or fastened with a tiny amount of glue.

I'd buy it at that price. Also, from the back you'll never have difficulty identifying your bass.
