Ok will probably be looking for a new system. Had a PSM 400 X1 with P4M, but sold it cause or none use (quip about hindsight). So looking Midrange price. So Shure has PSM200 and new 300 coming out. What about Sennheiser, Carvin, AKG, Mipro any opinions.

I'm using the Shure P4HW with the SE215 ear buds and it's fine.

I'm using Carvin with 1964 Qi's. The wireless is best in price range.. very few on ebay.. stereo.. but (IMHO) buds are junk.
PSM200's are mono..

Yeah I know PSM is mono and that isn't really a concern. I already have E5's and E3's. So I have decent ears for the time being! Does the Carvin have a limiter.

yes.. it does.
On or off... not adjustable. I assume it's brick-wall type..
But it does have one.

I would like adjustable on the limiter. eq isn't that important since our mixer is a Qsc Touchmix 16. very nice board BTW easy to operate and you can record all 16 channels Simultaneously in 32 bit wav

I believe you have to go up to the PSM900 (or Senn EW300) series ($1000+) before you get adjustable limiting on IEM mixes. Lesser models that have limiting are mostly just on/off.. idk about EQ on the wireless units themselves.
We use an X32 Producer, and I mix my own IEM's from my iPad with X32-Q.

I can use any of the standard X32 output channel features on that "feed" to my ears, EQ, Compressor/Limiter and any other inserts available. Only affects MY feed, NOT the otehr IEM mixes or main L/R outs. I also have full control over the effects levels I have in my mix. Yes, the VERY same effects applied via the 8 effect busses/inserts available on the main outs. Plus, I get the same IEM "mix" whether L/R goes to our PA or we use the house system and plug their snake splits into the X32.

Then, as long as you are happy with using the E5/E3's, I'd focus my purchase decision on budget. There's not much between the PSM200, Carvin EM900 and a Galaxy AS900 except price, tho the Carvin has more frequency choices, is stereo. Carvin and Shure have limiters. Other than that, the difference is mostly in the included buds.

I'm about to put a couple of AKG IVM4500 on Craigslist/Ebay...

I love them. Have DBX processing built in. The only reason I am letting go of them is because we have a couple of systems and after a few tries, my horn section can't get used to having earplugs. The have really low mileage and I still have boxes.

Most definitely, and not because I run all over. I have a lot of trouble walking so anything that I could possibly get my feet tangled up in would be a trip to the floor!!!! It's happened that is why I use wireless on bass!

Ok. I use a wired system at church as I don't need to move at all. It is inexpensive and works great. Westone UM-2's, Boss TU-2, a Rolls box and a Radial JDI. Fits on a Pedaltrain Nano.

We have a 4 member band. We use 2 Galaxy Audio AS1100 transmitters and 4 receivers. They work well for the price. We use custom cables to turn the transmitters/receivers into 2 monos. ( one transmitter gets 2 monitor feeds and the receiver has a custom pigtail that either gives you left channel in both ears or right channel in both ears ). I think it's really good for vocals and a bit of music.. we've gone to silent practice.. no amps, all direct and electronic drums. A full mix in the in ears seems to saturate the transmitter or receiver and it doesnt hold up great.. May be too much bass or something else.. If I go wired it's great.. its only wireless that is less good. Not bad, and works to let us hear what we're doing. But not nearly as good as wired.

I wish I could compare to another wireless system and see if they are worth the difference in cost. I think the Galaxy is probably good for the price, it's held up for 2 years and gets the job done. I can't compare it's quality to other units.

I purchased the Mipro dual diversity wireless IEm. Cheaper than Senn, more expensive than others. It was a significant step up on the entry level unit i had originally. I've been really happy with them.

I purchased from ineargear.com and the reviews on their site seem to indicate they work better than the Sennheiser units. Everytime I have recommended this unit it has been largely ignored - Mipro seem to be quite unfashionable, but I have been very happy with them.
