DUH!!!! What's the point of a higher intellect if you can't use it to choose between just filling you stomach and using your super powers for evil. Most religious and ethical schools of thought have some allowance for acceptably causing suffering to others. Righteous indignation for starters.
I don't want to get into clergy bashing, but sexual desire, however different it may be from normative heterosexual relations is an instinctual thing. The target may differ, but the desire to express whatever color you're into will still want to get out. That's more a case of higher consciousness working to suppress instinct as opposed to bees who instinctually assume roles for breeding.Exactly- intelligence based genetic survival.

The perversion override I mentioned, however, is NOT survival of the fittest. It's perversion over instinct. Instinct would tell these creatures (priests) that hurting children could get them executed.

Like any other crime (putting survival at risk) I think the odds of successfully committing the crime are weighted against the odds of apprehension. But brain chemicals produced by desire over-ride the math which should be telling the criminal "NO". On a percentage basis, once you remove those with known head injuries or congenital issues, the average prison population has a higher i.Q. than the general populace vetted the same. Unfortunately they are. They think "consent" can be given by pre-schoolers. Sorry, I'll stop. No, I'll say one other thing: I worked in law office for about 11 years and we did lots of public defender work......I think my mind has been permanently fried in some areas from having to process thousands of pages of transcripts of those types of crimes and write trial notes(Cliff Notes) for the attorneys to find stuff quickly at trial. Nothing is as joyless as reducing what happened to some kid to,"pages 8-11, victim X describes doing X". Was hard to come home to my family and kids and feel normal some days. We've got one of those in our backyard. The logical stretches necessary to justify these beliefs is impressive, it's basically claiming there's a 400 year active conspiracy theory by people of all walks of life from all corners of the earth using different disciplines.
Who gets to decide what harm is acceptable? We spend our lives harming each other, sometimes we can "justify" it but often we can't. "Justification" isn't objective.
There are all kinds of sexual attractions that humans possess. Some I relate to, some I laugh at, some that I find unpleasant.
