No personal experience, but most entry levels interfaces are using the same AD, or at least ones so close that they’re effectively the same. The DA should be on par with a Scarlett. DAs are always the worst sounding part of any system (according to Andrew Scheps), so I wouldn’t sweat that too much. The preamps are the big question. They’ll all be linear and generally flat, but entry level preamps tend to have really low gain. If your Scarlett works for you, check its gain level and compare it to the Axe. If the Axe is the same or better it will likely work well for you. If it’s less then you might have problems.
