IK Multimedia Axe I/O

Anybody using it?

I'm looking for feedback as I love the feature set but not willing to sacrifice audio quality compared to my Scarlett gear.

Just looking for feedback here from anybody who has used it and can discuss quality.

No personal experience, but most entry levels interfaces are using the same AD, or at least ones so close that they’re effectively the same. The DA should be on par with a Scarlett. DAs are always the worst sounding part of any system (according to Andrew Scheps), so I wouldn’t sweat that too much. The preamps are the big question. They’ll all be linear and generally flat, but entry level preamps tend to have really low gain. If your Scarlett works for you, check its gain level and compare it to the Axe. If the Axe is the same or better it will likely work well for you. If it’s less then you might have problems.

I use an Axe I/O and I love it especially when it is used with Ampliube 4. It has so many features compared to other interfaces and comes in two models, one being the standard which has two inputs for guitars and the solo which has just one. I have a Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 and a Audient id14 which are great but they don't come close to the Axe I/O which is probably the first general audio interface made specifically for guitar. And like I have previously said using the Axe I/O in conjuction with IK Multimedia's Amplitube is a real gem especially for recordings.If you are looking to buy an Axe I/O then I would personally go for the offer they currently have which includes the new Amplitube 5 version of their software which is due for release soon but you can pre order it at a reduced price.
