I have two Neo112's (first generation), and couldn't disagree more. IMO, their signature sound is full range clarity, and I get lots of clarity and punch with my G-K heads, whether it's the 700RB-II or MB-500. In fact, the latter head is so bright that I cut treble and high mids for a little mo' phatness. The Neo112 does produce deep lows, which might have prompted your "subs with tweeters" comment, so I sometimes do cut the bass EQ on my heads to prevent too much boom. But that's probably a good idea with many cabs.
I've received nothing but rave reviews tone-wise with this G-K gear from other players, a studio owner, bandmates, etc.
