Just got off the phone with the wife. She went for a physical last week and a mamography yesterday. The urine tests came back screwy, blood in the urine, plus some other stuff. Yesterday's mamography revealed some annomalies, so they had her come back for another today. Now they want her to go for a biopsy. Jesus Christ ! She's only 40 friggin' years old ! I'm not ready to be a goddam single parent. They said there's a 90% chance that the breast spots were just calcium deposits. But, I seem to attract ****** luck like nobody's business. I'm afraid it may have spilled over onto the her. Plus, her family's health history is not great. *** am I gonna do !? I'm sure my son and I could survive, but my daughter would be lost without her mommy. I need to go chill for a minute...................

Yeah man. I've been there a few times too. Slow down and don't jump to conclusions at this point. It's way, way too early. The docs aren't even sure what's what yet. It will take time but I've seen truly miraculous things from docs these days. Just slow down...dont' jump ahead...don't think of the worst thing that can happen...think of the best thing. OK? Try to relax...whatever is going on can be treated.

1st order of business - calm down. She needs you to be strong at the moment moreso than ever.
It could very well be absolutely nothing serious at all. Docs these days are very very aggressive when even the slightest thing is out of the ordinary - they're doing their job and doing it well. Only prob is that it can scare the sh*t out of you. Mine has been through nearly the same scare and it was actually nothing serious. I'll keep my fingers crossed that everything's ok, and I'm here if you need to vent bro.

Don't over-react too quickly, Don. All of this is serious stuff, but sometimes it's nothing too severe. Bunny has been through this, the news was bad and treatment rough, but she's now 6 years clean and healthy.

Most important, IMO, is for the partner (you and me in our cases) to be a strong supporter and cheer leader. It's complicated and a major drag if treatment is needed, but you'll need to be the rock she can lean on.

Of course, man, if you or your wife need to chat just give us a call. But first and foremost, don't over-react too quickly ...

After reading these last few posts, all I can say is that I'm glad I'm a member of this forum. I maybe leaning on you guys a bit in the future, and I appreciate all of your offers and good wishes. I just hope I don't have to take you guys up on any of them.

I am praying for your wife, that this will be just calcium deposits or some other benign and fixable thing. I am praying for you, too, so that you can be strong for and with your wife through all of this. I am praying for your kids, that they can be strong for their mother, too.

This is a very scary thing. If it were me, I'd be beside myself with worry. More often than not, these things work out to be alright, and that is my prayer for your wife.

My sister-in-law went through something similar several years ago. She has been 100% healthy ever since.

I don't have much to add to what has already been said in the above posts. But, I will also say that if you ever need anything, I'm easily reachable. We wish you and your wife the best of luck and health through this.

Best of luck.

At least if it's something bad, and they catch it early (and it appears that's what they're trying to do), the prognosis is a lot better than it used to be, and getting better every day. You CAN get through this.

Be strong, and we'll be pulling for you and your wife.
