I'm going fretless... What should I do?

I would look for for a JO5fretless skyline used. I LOVE MINE. If it is close to you main bass you will have a lot more fun with it. Matching them is the best way but get close if you can't afford to match. The JO5 is a killer sounding fretless. Used you can't go wrong

I would recommend the Ibanez Gary Willis 5-string fretless; it has a 35 inch scale.

It doesn't have a 35" scale.

I don't know your budget but I wouldn't blow a fortune on your first fretless, quite a few peoplw try it and hate it, test drive as many as you can (have been) I bought a Squier VM fretless and love it and I tried a few that were a couple of hundred quid dearer.

I have also been considering going fretless for some time.. I played on a Fender standard fretless and it felt like a pretty solid bass, and definitely a pretty reasonable price. Any opinions on where it stands compared to some of the higher end basses? If the squire is pretty good (see fretless guy's post), I couldn't see why this one wouldn't be a step up.

As overpriced as I think 90% of their basses are, the Warwick Corvette fretlesses are incredible.
