Hey congrats.

Also who knows you maybe able to make to make the wedding. My daughter was born 11 weeks early, my best friends son was born 3 weeks later.

Pass the cigars after the big day!!
THANKS!:D

As for my brother's wedding: I'm going, unless my wife goes into labor that weekend, and then it's questionable. Her parents will fly up from Florida to help her out while I'm in Minneapolis watching my brother tie the knot.

My wife's family has a long history of having c-sections, so we think she might need one too. But, unless the baby is born naturally, and at least 3 weeks early, my wife is committed to not going to the wedding.

And...I'm handin' out cigars...gum cigars to those who don't smoke, cigarillos to those who don't know any better, and Davidoff Millenium Blends to those who do...:p

All the very best.

Forget the bass.

The college fund starts NOW.

The only way to beat the numbers is a little
ploy called COMPOUND INTEREST.

I know, I used it to fund 2 educations.
There are also about 20 basses I didn't buy ...

I have one girl and one boy. It's all good.

:)

Compound interest...there's a thought I'd sooner have left back in b-school!:D

Actually, the money thing is the scariest part. I've got friends who've done it without a working wife and 3 kids on half the salary I earn, but I'm too much the yuppie now...

Should I be scared?:D

Yes. Scared enough to take advantage of some of the tax free/deferred account options, anyway.

Those options came too late for me. I saved for 20
years without those very attractive new benefits.

I sent my last check for child number 1 a few days ago. It was 18K for 1/2 a year.

The harsh reality goes like this:

Private school tuition is 27-30k. + 5K room, board and books, so a four year haul TODAY is
140K. Two kids, 280K. AFTER TAXES. So figure half a mil before taxes. State schools are a better deal, maybe 1/2 that.

Add about 18 years of tuition inflation at 3-4% per year, and there is your upcoming bill.

Someone with less income has the advantage of qualifying for additional grants and low interest loans that I couldn't, as I made too much to qualify, but too little to pay that kind of number ... people wonder why I said I was depressed in December with 2 in college. The tuition bills were due

So learn to spell 'c-o-m-p-o-u-n-d interest'.

Hint: Grandparents love to contribute to college accounts!

Congrats again!

Now you know why I didn't spend any money on gear in the last 25 years ...
