Im moving

Ok I am finally moving out of my parents house after 32 years. I'm moving in with my girlfriend and her son. I wanted to rent this big house so I would have room for my basses and my matchbook collection. She insists we get this tiny 2 bedroom townhouse becuase its more economical than the house. She told me the heating and a/c costs would be horrible compared to the town house. The trouble is my job is going to allow me to work from home in the a few months and there is no room for my guitars, bass, amps and my matchbook collection. I just dont know what to do because there is no changing her mind. She has already told the people at the townhouse complex we are taking it. But we have yet to hear back from the landlord abou the house. I think I am going to tell her I want the house even though the deposit and the first month rent combined is higher than the deposit and first months rent on the townhouse.
There is no option for me to stay in my parents house at this point. Its abusive(long story) and they hate my girlfriend and my lifestyle.

Does the townhouse have a garage that can be made into a bass room instead?
And there's gotta be a third housing choice.......and ifyou and your girlfriend cant compromise on this you've got a rocky road ahead....
