Im moving

You're not going to read this anyway, so I suppose I am replying for my own entertainment.

First off, welcome to life. There's apparently a reason she wants to go with the smaller house, it's called budgeting. Something someone has spent 32 with the parents isn't likely to understand. If you work from home, pay the extra yourself and write it off as a business expense.

Your parents aren't being abusive, they are trying to tell you to get the hell out of their home after three freaking decades. They have the right to disapprove of your lifestyle as long as you are living under their roof.

Grow up.

I moved out at 17. Struggled hardcore for a long time. Even spent some time living in a one bedroom apartment with two other people. Moved back in w/mom for a short time. Got my **** together and was gone again by 21. Never looked back. How the **** are you 32 and still living with your parents?! :eyebrow:
Oh well, not my place to judge. I'm just really curious about what it is you've been doing for 32 years.
Anyhow, it's about time you're out and making your own way. Sounds like you should let your girlfriend take the lead on the type of place you should get. I'm guessing she has more real world experience and has likely lived out on her own.

Wow... that's late to move out. But then again there's different cultures. Some time ago I read about a desperate 30-40 year old man from Italy that sued his parents for forcing him to move out....

Anyway, if you haven't yet lived on your own, you might be surprised on how expensive it actually is. You need to pay for everything, and that is everything you can imagine and a bit more. Having an own house is also much more expensive than to have an apartment. I'd definitely recommend to go with the financially safer (cheaper) alternative here, and maybe upgrade later to a bigger house. Take it in steps...

Anyway, good luck with moving out! You will enjoy the additional freedom it brings, regardless of the house/apartment size. I'm sure of that. :)
