I was incredibly impressed with the top. It's amazingly symmetrical for a mass produced instrument. I've found two very minute, negligible complaints. Impressed.

Nice! love the color and the top. I've only played one of these and it's been a couple of years ago, but I remember that it had a great neck on it.
The neck has a nice feel to it for sure. I'm just having to adjust to a glossy neck again.

Personally, I've never heard any EMG's I've liked. These are no exception. In fact, the EMG HZ's are my least favorite out of them all.
The "scooped" tone isn't quite what I'm looking for. This bass has given me the best experience with these particular pickups. It has a crisp high end snap. Great with the harmonics and so far, (I haven't played through my regular rig), it has some aggressive lows. The mids just are missing. I would love to have a 3 band pre for the EMG HZ's and this could be a MUCH different story.
We'll see though.
Stilettos are nice but the HZs blow. Contrary to popular opinion, I have played warm sounding EMGs. The 40P5 is quite nice. You could put 2 in there and have a pretty sweet axe.

I haven't really decided on which pre I would like to try out. There are a lot out there.
