First off, it's poseur.
Second off, when people hear a cover, they generally want to hear it as close to the original as possible.
Third off, don't you think the damn song has enough bass in it already? Jesus.
And you're not a poser for learning a cover as it was written. Sometimes covers are cool to make your own, but sometimes it's awesome to hear a cover just like it was originally. If you're hell bent on playing something your own style, write a new song

The pick thing doesn't bother me one bit but the fact that you go off beat a fair amount does. How long have you been playing?
I don't think I go off beat a fair amount. I just messed up a few times, and I already recorded it four or five times before, and I didn't feel like doing it again.
