Hey folks! I post on the site occasionally, lurk obsessively, and had a buddy point out to me that this would probably be a good idea.

ANYWHO I play in a three piece rockroll band, and we recently played our first show (which I personally feel went over quite well), and all three of us are just generally looking for improvements. I'm attaching our demo to the bottom of this post, if you have a second to listen, it'd be greatly appreciated.
(Also don't worry about hurting any feelings, we WANT to know what can be better, so don't hold back guys.)

I don't have much to say about the music,because you do have a style.I think the recording with respect to the bass could use some attention.
I'd like to hear more bottom end on the recording,and the bass seems to get swallowed up a bit in all that midrange. As a bassist,I always struggled with fitting in with the mix.

I listened to all 4 songs. Really dig the style of each song, and I like "What Did You Do?" the best out of the bunch. I agree with brbadg, there are places that the bass gets lost in the mix, though listening on a decent pair speakers and the bass is audible. On headphones, not so much.

On "Love On", some of your drummer's fills didn't sit well with me. It seemed like he was struggling with a few of them. And, the tone of the drums on "Still Alive" didn't sit well with me, but I liked the song. Those are my only real critiques. I think you guys got something good here, and I'm sure you will only get better.

One thing - and feel free to ignore me since this is a bit of a pet peeve thing with me - but your intros are too long IMO. Four bars or less (and preferably less) should be enough intro for just about any song before the vocals come in. This is something I see with a lot of younger bands that do their own recordings. Don't dawdle. Get in there and start it already. I thought all of the songs were pretty good. But those 30 seconds on average before the singer started stripped a lot of the initial impact and power from the songs. In each case I thought the song would start at maybe the 14-15 second mark. But then there was some additional (and to my ears wholly superfluous) measures that left me hanging and wondering when things were going to get rolling.

For the song Still Alive, I thought all it really needed - or wanted - was that segment between 0:06 and 0:12 seconds (i.e. two repeats of that riff) before the song should have started. And for Love On I'd like it better with two repeats of the bass riff plus two repeats of the guitar intro before the vocals started. Basically between 0:07 and 0:23. For What Did You Do I'd just go with from 0:09 to 0:19. And for Cruel Monday from 0:09 to 0:27 for the intro.

But that's me.
