Yup, impulsiveIm pretty impulsive about a lot of things and will buy something that catches my fancy without thinking twice about it. The things that dont catch my fancy are usually things that most others like... My stubbornness sends me against the grain. I also clear my browser history very often and TB is the only social media i take part in. I dont get a lot of adds.
This being said, i was in a pawnshop the other day and an 80s Aria bass caught my eye for a reasonable price. I plucked at it fir a couple minutes and put it back. I felt pretty darn good about my self control.
Well, i am literally now on my way back to that shop to see if its still there

ad blockers, script blockers all that stuff is your friend. Just don't see what the damn algorithms want you to see.

Often, my house mate (ex-girlfriend) will get ads for stuff I have been looking at, or talking about, on her phone. Also happens the other way around. For some reason it often ends up on the wrong device.
I came to terms with the fact that I have to hunt some obscure piece of gear from time to time.
Downsizing IS fun and I'm at two cabinets, two heads, one tiny combo and three basses, but my pedalboard gets comments when I bring the same constellation twice to rehearsal.
The hunting gear seems to be part of the game. If I wasted all that time spent on the prowl with practice, I'd be way too good for the bands I'm in and that would make everyone unhappy.
