Of course tax breaks for the rich don't stimulate the economy. Just because John Gagillionaire pays less in taxes doesn't mean he's going to invest what he saves in job-creating companies. He's going to invest in companies with max ROI (companies that may, for instance, be downsizing to 'lean out' and 'achieve max efficiency'), or he's going to sit on it, or he's going to take a vacation. The whole 'job creators' thing is a self-congratulatory myth.

I am going to continue to refer to myself as a "wealth creator" since it's my labor that is being exploited for profits (wealth) by the "job creators."

Obamacare would work if the country weren't so unhealthy, technology wasn't drastically increasing costs of medical care, drug companies weren't monopolizing and bleeding the system, and there weren't 300,000,000 people in the nation.

My family isn't relying on inheritance, either. The idea of getting less of it BECAUSE doesn't really jive with us.

The reason states have "death" taxes is to discourage dynastic maneuvers. The vast majority of Americans aren't affected by the "death" taxes (the federal threshold has increased 6-fold in about 10 years). At the beginning of the 2000's the fed had "death" taxes as low as $700k. If I recall properly. Nearly all significant maneuvers in the tax system since the early 2000's have been for the benefit of the wealthy (top 10% - includes capital gains taxes and "death" taxes).

You do realize one can be evaluated by their economic and political lean objectively? Even "zealotry" can be evaluated objectively by the way in which a person operates their belief/theory system.

Boetcker was a known and outspoken neo-conservative zealot." is the statement that is made, yet if you Google "Boetcker" and "neoconservative" the only place these 2 words show up together are on TalkBass! If that what he believes, fine, otherwise a statement like that indicates he has something to back it up.

As far as the list goes, I've been fortunate enough to be around several successful business people and I promise you that most if not all of the items on the list they live by, and I don't even know if they ever heard of Boetcker or not. The list could have been written 2000 years ago or last week, doesn't mean that they are not good principles at least in part to better one's self financially and beyond. If everyone would get off the "give me give me give me" bandwagon, quit looking to blame someone else for their problems, and improve themselves in many ways even beyond what is on this list they would be better off as well as the whole country.

I think most people are looking to better themselves and if they're not, who cares? I've got way bigger things to worry about than someone getting a free sandwich on my dime. Speaking of which, I wonder how much each of us actually pays into the welfare system. Judging by those numbers, I doubt it's even measurable.

I didn't disagree with you. I added that it is far more complex than that.

But frankly, in the past, those people would have gotten a bed, a diet, a vitamin, and died. Now, they are injected, supplemented, medicated, tested 'til their wallet is dry.

Talk about egocentric. So "everyone" but you is selfish and "me-me" while welfare is chock-full of fraud that costs you money? Welfare fraud probably cost you about $3 last year. Vending machines likely de-frauding more money from you. Geezus...get this man a chair, we're gonna be here a while.

If 12.8M is 4.1% (number on welfare), we can assume that 46.7M is 14.96% (number on food stamps)... Again, far from "everyone". The number of people taking unemployment is even lower than those on welfare and I'm guessing there are more than a handful that are doing all three. Regardless... Far from "everyone".

Perception may well be reality, but a lot of perceptions are not well-founded.

Neo-conservative didn't exist until recently, or else "neo" would not prefix. Considering how little I can find on the dude other than his 'ten bull****s' and how much Reagan loved them, I doubt very many people care about the guy. Seems only the Conservatives have worshiped him though since at least the 1940's.
