Ibanez' newish SR-660, SR-655 (Ash body 4 and 5s) & SR-750 & SR-755 (Mahogany & Bubinga body 4 and 5s) may certainly be closer to the "midrange" price-point, but with their newly designed Carey Nordstrand "CND" P & J pickups, powerful yet dynamic 3-band Active Preamp with Passive Bypass & Tone Control, bolt-on bodies with choice of very different Tone Woods, I've been considering one... and while I started out as an "Ibanez Guy" and will back them pretty hard, they haven't released a model that I've wanted to purchase in a decade. These change that... ;-)
It's time to retire my Epiphone EBM. The truss rod is rattling pretty badly and the repairs aren't worth the instrument.
I'd like something I can have as a messing-around ADGC tenor bass, though. What are some good options?
