I put a set on my MIA jazz last week...played it all weekend. They hurt my fingers so bad I mean they put calluses under my calluses. I never had pain from a string! I couldnt play for a couple days! I just had a custom bubinga neck put on another jazz bass. Gave the guy superalloys to put on that....played that all weekend and my fingers are back killing me again! I mean my fingertips are like hard as a rock from playing! so how can they hurt?

I love the tone of the bubinga neck Fralin pups and superalloy string. you have to hear how full and wonderful it sounds!

anyone else get pain from using superalloy or is it just me?

it only hurts after about 3 hours of playing. is it the high tension? construction of the string? materials used?

I have superAlloys on my Lakland jazz bass, and they bring out the zing an pop on that bass. I have several basses, and they're all strung with different brands.

The alloy strings feel rough as compared to Chrome Flats, DR Fatbeams, DR Sunbeams, Elixers, and coated strings. Those are the different brands I'm playing with now.

I don't have any problems playing through pain when I use the Lakland, but I do alternate through basses quite often, so maybe I haven't played it enough to experience the calluses that you're going through.

I brought it to practice a few weeks ago, and I'm sure we played for three hours easy, but I didn't notice any discomfort.

You know I dont even care how much it hurts after playing this bass all weekend. This is the best sound I have ever heard! Alder mexi body. Fralin 10% overwound pickups. badass2 bridge. bubinga/bubinga finished back open fretboard. Superalloy strings. The lows are so low and clear and full. the mids are punchy and loud. the highs are a bit low but clear and not too bright. the sustain holds forever! The sound is so perfect! I am amazed! that bass sounds better then my american deluxe!

ok sorry for that just had to tell someone. not everyday you find the tone you have been after!

Super Alloys rock! I love that you get round wound zing but you also get the booty! Most rounds sound really thin on comparison. A few days and they settle into a really nice place for me.

Strung up a Rumblefish with them a week ago and need to get aset on prder for an L2500.

If the SA's are killing your fingertips, I suspect you meed to spend some time doing a setup. Sounds like yoir action might be a little high. I'm mostly a flats and tape wound guy and they don't bother me at all...

I wasn't sure what to expect when I got these strings, and they're very vibrant out of the package. I'm sure they'll mellow out over time.

I had Black Beauties on the Jazz, and then I had it plek'd at Lakland, so I made the switch. I was never really satisfied with the sound of the Black Beauties, however, it's the best feeling string out there. Very dry and smooth to the touch.

I'm a firm believer that the coating alters the sound of the strings, and it's just not for me. Despite what I think there are plenty of supporters of the BB sound.

I like the fact that I have the SA's on my Lakland, it gives a distinct vibrant sound that I do not have with my other basses, and it's fun having multiple basses that produce different results in tone.

I've been looking at the Infeld Superalloys on BassStringsOnline and I'm interested in trying a 6-string set on my 35" scale Ristola. How are the mids on these? I'm trying to steer clear of anything Mid Scooped. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

P.S. Would the extra long scale be long enough for a 35" scale bass?

If I'd have to describe these strings with one word, it would be "balanced". They've got the lows, mids and highs, in all a nice, full balanced tone.

Yeah it's like everything else in life you get what you pay for! More expensive but incredible sounding strings! The lows thump the mids growl and the highs are bright. I am lucky I won an auction on eBay 4 sets for $29 I think it was! I have them on my deluxe jazz and 70s jazz. They have a bit high tension only downfall. I had slinkys on my jazz before these and the difference is insane! I have 2 more packs so I guess this will be my string for a while.

Nice ebay score! The gauges on the 6-string set are slightly lighter than I'm used to using, but I lean more towards a higher tension set, so I'm really excited to try a set out on my bass.
