7 true bypass switches in a row will make more harm than good.
That's way too many wires and plugs to keep proper signal.
Ummm... that's not true at all!
A multi true-bypass switcher is actually eliminating all of the "unused" circuitry in the pedals you
aren't using including any lengths of patch cables that would go between them. The small amount of cable that terminates at each tb switch is negligible compared to the amount going through the patch cables and unused circuitry of a collection of bypassed pedals (especially true bypass ones).
Now, if you want to talk about the more complex relationship between various combinations of tb pedals, buffered pedals and cable lengths - then that's a whole different ballgame! (and a complex ballgame at that)
It all comes down to understanding how different pedals operate, including your instruments circuitry and taking into consideration how long your cables are. Of course, the most important consideration is what you can actually
hear, or your clients can actually identify!
A blanket statement such as
"...That's way too many wires and plugs to keep proper signal..." just doesn't cover enough scenarios to have a chance of being accurate. Granted, simplest
is always best, but with more complicated setups a more sophisticated switching system may be called for.
Again, it all comes down to ears & what makes the most sense for
your setup.
