Just wanted to make sure anyone reading this is clear on what's the proper way to string a round core bass string. Definitely want to make sure you give extra length past the tuner, take needle nose pliers or even fingertips and make a nice crimp where you want to cut. Then make a nice clean cut on the crimp. No need to tension the string or anything. Just crimp, cut, and go. The crimp just ensures that the core won't unravel or anything once you get it tuned to pitch. And by crimp I'm talking about bending the string so you get a little crimp spot from the core bending. If anyone is still uncertain watch the YouTube video where the DR rep shows you how he installs strings.
