Instruments and electric baseboard heating

Quick question here.

Ive always kept my instruments further away from the heating baseboards in order to prevent cracks on acoustics and neck bowing due to the dryness caused by the contact of the heated air.

Question : Am I pushing it? I mean does it really have an impact?

If too close yes I would say it could.
If far enough away I would say no it wouldn't.
