So, I've been working on some arrangements of Bach pieces for 6-string (fretless) & 7-string (fretted) bass. Primarily harpsichord concertos & violin sonatas. I'm not seeking a true reproduction of the score in a classical sense; rather, I'm looking to take minor liberties in modifying the compositions to suit a bass and its dynamics.
Anyone have an interest in working on these with me? I'd basically be looking for some feedback on my drafted fingerings/positioning and modifications, as well as some suggestions on others (e.g., different fingerings, places where hammer-ons/pull-offs/slides and tapping may be used) that might work well for the score.
I'm starting with scores I pull off of musescore, and modifying and laying out fingering in Guitar Pro.
Shoot me a PM or reply to this post if interested; right now I have a draft of BWV 1052 that's close to being ready to share - at least for the cello, bass, and harpsichord parts (I haven't bothered with the violin parts yet, but they should be relatively easy to arrange, at least in comparison to the harpsichord), and am currently working on BWV 1001. And, if someone out there happens to already have worked on the same stuff, I'm happy to join.
