Intonation issues!

Hello

Since ive dropped my bass to CGCF it just cannot seem to stay in tune and the intonation which has been set twice, keeps slipping...

Wondered if anyone has any ideas?

Should i maybe use a heavier string or?

The heavier strings would put some tension back on it, which may help. Do you actually have enough adjustment range to set the correct intonation tuned down that far?

What gauge strings do you have now?

I play a 5 string, tuned G-C-G-C-F. I use DR DDT, .45-.125, and have no problems with tuning or intonation, on any of my three basses I have set up for that tuning. You got any more info? Type of bass? What strings you're using?

Atm i just have on 40-11 so pretty light, the tuning and intonation were set by a guitar tech so... i assume it was all fine!

This is probably out of my range of expertise. I agree though, more info about your bass will help those with experience once they find this thread.

Hmmm, doesn't sound right. It's true that .040 is a light gauge string, but the other number should be 3 numbers, such as 110? That would make it somewhat heavy gauge. All this said more info is needed. Here's a list...

1- What scale length?
2- What instrument... make/model?
3- When was the instrument last setup?
4- Is truss rod adjusted properly?
5- Did you have similar intonation issues when tuned to standard EADG?
6- What type/make strings? How old are they?

That should work for now.....
