Hi everyone
I've been playing bass for about a year now. I mostly play rock and rock-adjacent music. I really like bands like This Will Destroy You, And So I Watch You From Afar, and Stars of the Lid, but also bands like blink-182 and Equipment.
Here's my setup. The bass is a Yamaha TRBX174. My amp is a Peavey Mark III Bass with a homemade cab that I bought secondhand. (I put the Peavey emblem on it because it has Peavey speakers.) I also use a small pedalboard, although it used to be much larger, and I keep a couple of pedals off the board for practicing at home.
Right now I'm working on learning A Song For Our Fathers by Explosions in the Sky. I'm also preparing to record a cover of Down by blink-182, including a solo that I wrote for the end. That should be done by the end of the month; I'll post it when it's ready.
I haven't really jammed with anyone yet, but playing live is my goal. I think I need a few more months of practice before I'm ready for that though.
I look forward to meeting you all and having worthwhile discussions about bass!
