Hi All,

I am looking for a phrase trainers--just to slow stuff down a bit while I learn riffs, etc. There tons of choices on the app store. What are people using these days? I see some older threads that recommend the Amazing Slow Downer for iOS and Transcribe for desktop. Are those still the best two choices?

Thanks.

Can't say whats best because I've only tried a few. I settled on Transcribe about 3 years ago and use it every day. If it still have the 30 free trial go for it. I coupled mine with the Infinity (IN-USB-2) foot controller for hands free operation.

I started using Amayzing Slowdowner on my PC years ago. I got an iPad and tried the Slowdowner for the iPad but wasn't really happy with it. I tried the Anytune free version and liked some of the features. I upgraded and got Anytune Pro+ and it does everything I need. I like the slowdown feature, pitch change feature, loop, and the EQ. I often use the Low Shelf filter and boost everything 3-6 dB up to about 1k - 1.3k hz. If I still can't hear the bass I will raise the pitch 5 semi tones so you're in the same position, but just up one string.

I can't speak for any of the other similar apps, but I have no reservations on recommending Anytune Pro +. It's feature rich and for the price, you can't go wrong. I've had it for almost two years now and they keep improving it.
