Is it possible that since OS3.0 , the applications are running on the background?

Asking cause , my battery got dead three times in three days , never happened before.

Do we have to do something special to Quit the applications , something more than just the bottom button?

How can we know if an application is running while on the front page?

You may need to reset the iPhone. In my original (not 3G) iphone I had a problem where the battery ran down very quickly. A technical article said it was something to do with a software update and it needed to be reset. The way you could tell was if the iPhone got very warm and the battery ran down quickly. A simple software reset fixed the problem.

I'm pretty sure the iPhone still only runs one app at a time. I've updated to 3.0 as well and my batter life is pretty much the same as before. My problem is that I loose my signal every couple of days. I have to reboot it to regain my bars. Version 3.0.1 should hopefully fix this.

make sure you emails are not on push and fetch.. if they are, set them to off then reset the phone.. turn it off for about 5 mins..

i just read a tweet about this exact same thing. my 3.0 touch and iphone are actually running longer now with the new os..

I'm using MobileMe for the first time now with the new OS, and everything else and my battery is lasting longer.

Maybe you're spending more time playing with the cool new features? :D

Turn it off for a few minutes and turn it back on. Usually fixes most problems.
