iRig? Yuk!

So is the iRig 2 the true piece of junk I'm finding it to me, or am I doing something wrong?

I sprang for the Ampeg B15 "amp", but it's truly wretched.

I wasn't sure where to post this, so please move if necessary...

Glad to hear, thanx for the note.

My main problem is that the bass sounds muted. Dull. Lifeless. Well, you get the idea. Audio played through it sounds fine.

There's a lot of tools in there that would be great sand helpful IF I could get the bass tone to improve.

Okay, I'm starting to think that I bought the iRig 2 for the wrong purpose.

I was looking for a compact practice solution to use with my iPhone and headphones. It now appears to me that it's intended as a preamp to use with an external amp.

I've searched the websites, manuals, user forums, you name it. I've made every adjustment I can think of.

I simply cannot get a good bass sound with my usual headphones.

So it's back to another Tascam GB10 unit. I had one and it's disappeared. It was very handy.

Try some different headphones maybe. I know my practice set-up sounds radically different with ear buds vs. over-the-ear phones. Just a suggestion....

I used mine as a travel solution and to record my homework for Berklee and it was fine. Not exceptional, but fine. I used it with GarageBand mostly on a Mac (Berklee recommended Audacity to the PC folks), and then with Amplitube on my iPad/iPhone. On my Mac Air, I use the Hi-Fi DI, no effects (you need to actually check that; GB runs reverb/delay as a standard for some silly reason) and run it flat and the tone is just my pre-amp largely. Sounds good to me.

Would have to circle back on iphone as I haven't used that in a bit. I did have some issues with it freaking out on my every once in a while, and it doesn't like flipping around programs. That said, I've spent far more on far less. It's been a really good practice solution for me many times.
