I am wanting to know how to get a bass tone like Alex Wilson from the doom metal band Iron Claw (i.e., Clawstrophobia, Skullcrusher).
He primarily used Simms-Watts amps, afaik. There is a WEM stack pictured here. I believe he used Selmer as well. And some kind of Fender bass.
I would like to know what EQ would get close enough to this sound.The thing is, I don't have a bass myself. My friend does have a First Act bass as well as a Crate guitar amp. I don't know what kind, but it's pretty decent. (That combination is not good for the amp, I know).
