I'm not going to get on a soapbox about what people should or shouldn't eat, hell I think we should have a bacon forum, but I have to wonder that besides the irony of this story, if the restaurant is being a bit irresponsible. With their "Over 350lbs Eats Free" and their "warning label", I wonder if it is slightly irresponsible. I believe you can choose to eat what you want and whatever happens to you is your own fault, but the way the establishment seems to poke fun at it just irks me the wrong way.

What do you guys think?

If someone will buy it, someone will sell it, and yet another person will judge them both for it. Who cares? The buyer was irresponsible but that's just natural selection in action (if he didn't die this time, he still won't make it much longer at this rate).

This is probably the best photo I have ever seen. The walking cleavage is great, but the cigarette poster on the wall and the bloke passing out at the bar in the background really makes it.

First off, the photo caption is wrong. There is a LOT left to the imagination.

It is your life. If you decide to eat and live a certain way, and happen to die while eating a sandwich designed for the nutritional needs of a superheavyweight weightlifter - awesome. There is one less moron in the world.

What someone puts in their mouth, be it food or otherwise, is their own personal decision, and they should be responsible for the consequences.

The unfortunate thing is that the remainder of society is forced to pay for the rehabilitation of said morons. IMO - if you earn a cardiac arrest from your style of living - pay for it. Oops - can't pay for it? Sorry. Should have made better decisions.

Back a few years ago, I was working in the kitchen in a local eatery/wine bar and we had a dish we called the "heart attack". A fillet of blackened cod fried in butter with bread crumbs and asiago broiled over the top. It was basically swimming in grease or as we like to call it, flavor. A very large man and his wife came to dine one evening and ordered the cod. Not half way through, the man falls out of his chair and hits the floor. A heart attack. I don't know if the dish severed a purpose in this but needless to say, it was a scary incident. Poor guy too; the eatery is in the basement of an old historic hospital in the middle of town. The paramedics had a hell of a time getting him and the stretcher up the double turn stairs that you can't get two people side by side. I think he survived.

I read that story.

My personal take;

If you don't want it, don't eat it. It's not really a question of being responsible, it's a perfectly legal product and it's not being misrepresented in any way. It's not like they're selling their stuff as "diet food". I mean, they tell you it might kill you.

It's all about personal choices.

Realistically.....eating one meal won't give you a heart attack.

Kinda like some of the so called politicians who push the very same attitude while expecting us to ignore their own horrible life choices? :D:D

In seriousness though, if we won't allow government to waste tax dollars to help these people when they are alive, are we then going to demand government waste tax dollars to remove their corpses when they fall out dead in awkward places?

Maybe we should pass laws making all mistakes and bad choices illegal, or just make it illegal to be anything but perfect.

The coincidence of the guy getting a heart attack while eating the heart attack burger is striking, but it wasn't eating that burger at that moment that caused it. I'm no doctor, but as far as I ever heard it's plaque buildup in the arteries that causes these things. You have to actually digest the food and get the cholesterol in your arteries before it can cause a heart attack. It wasn't that burger that caused the heart attack but all the hundreds of burgers he had presumably been eating for years...

OK enough serious. Happy dance for burger babes.
