It's interesting how things changed: When I asked this question 20 years ago there were only few 212s available (Eden and Glockenklang for example) and most people thought they were a weak compromise between 15s an 10s. 115+210 was en vogue at that time. I still decided to go for a 212 (Glockenklang) and never looked back. Meanwhile I play a 112 Barefaced which kicks butt
Regarding more widely available cabs: the Ampeg 212AV gets a lot of love around here and I personally would also look at GK.
