Is a D’Addario string with a purple end cap a B string across all sets?

I’ve got a spare string with a purple end cap and no felt on either end. Positive it’s a D’Addario but unsure if it’s a B or a heavy gauge A.

Anyone have a 5-string set? I read the colors of the end caps are consistent across all D’Addarrio sets. True?

I also have a spare string with a gold end cap. Pretty sure it’s an E from a 45-105 set.

The B on my Dadd XL nickels, .120 and .125 are gold looking, same as the E.

If this is a B it came from a 5 string set. So is this a B given the color of the ball end?

They're tapered singles, that's probably why...

Both tapered and non singles are brass in my experience. The ends are purple on a 5-string Exl-170 or220 set. But not the singles. Go figure :/

The D'Addario low B in a factory 5-string set = purple ball end. No tapered B's in factory sets.
The D'Addario E in a factory 5-string or 4-string set = gold.
The D'Addario singles all have gold ball ends.
