Fat is a word that can only hurt a person if that person allows him or herself to be captive to society's notion of what is acceptable. I am fat and have been fat most of my life. I would like to look different, but I know that losing weight and staying slim is difficult at a level that thin people honestly cannot understand, and I am more worried about being content with myself than trying to please others.
Although it is not quite the same thing, I am old enough to remember when calling an African American "black" was a sure way to get your nose broken. Simply saying, "Yeah, I am Black," took a lot of weight off a lot of folks shoulders.![]()
Just pointing out that the other side of the fence isn't greener.
I think hot people aren't skinny OR fat. Usually hot models have curves, and hot male models have muscles. They aren't "skinny." And a skinny person can also get all sorts of jokes their way, such as anorexic or bulimic sack of bones.
I make fun of everyone, I don't discriminate.
I call him a lanky assed scarecrow and he calls me the Staypufft Marshmallow Man, and we're both comfortable with that.
