Nope, being called skinny is a compliment. Well, unless you are REALLY skinny, I mean like emaciated skinny, then it might be uncool.

If that girl was from some war-torn African nation undergoing famine, Sally Struthers would be doing a fundraiser for her.

But she's a model, so its supposed to be ok that she looks like an Ethiopian famine victim.

GAG!!!

I love it that many countries where fashion is a major industry...France, Italy, Brazil...are putting limits on how skinny the models can be. It will get rid of pictures of starving young women in expensive clothing in our media. I'm noticing a trend toward curvier models in this country, too. Not everywhere, and not, like, "big girls", but women who look healthy, not as if someone keeps them locked in a room with no food and only lets them out for pictures.

Although Maki's opinion and input is often written off as being crude or sexual, when you really get down to it there's a lot of wisdom there. Feel good about yourself. See and feel naked people. There's not enough time to be concerned with what other people percieve you as. If you dislike what you're getting, try to change and get something else. If you can't change your appearance, you can at least change your attitude, character and outlook. It's the proactive way to live and I think it rocks. It's amazing to me how much a person's body language makes you percieve them as bigger or smaller. Did I mention that trying to see more naked people is the best advice I've ever heard? Yes, I'm saying that some of the best advice I've heard has also been written in this forum.

Or course we can't really tell how skinny you are unless you send me a naked picture. Just for scientific purposes. Then I could give a better qualified response to this serious discussion.

Also, it's always good to get a second opinion. I always like to volunteer my scientific mind to these purposes. It makes the world a better place (at least in my eyes).
