Is gluing nut absolutely necessary?

Hi.

No, not absolutely necessary.
But advisable.

I usually don't glue my own, but do glue the ones I'm working on for someone else.

Why do You ask?

I was going to do a shim just now, and was frantically looking for super glue, but couldn't find any. Upon removing the nut, I was surprise to see there wasn't any to begin with, and realized it was pretty snug in there. So i figured I'd ask for some pro advice, just to make sure.

Turns out...i used the wrong pliers to remove the nut and chewed it up...so I had to order a new one anyway...:smug:

I use a little dab of white glue.
