Is it a scam? Please help.

Personally, I wouldn't put any weight on the "pro owned" bit, but that's just me. I didn't see the videos the seller mentioned, but if it's easy to tell that bass was on stage with some bass player from Billy Joel's band, then that's a bonus. It's a pretty bass, at a decent price.

What exactly makes you think it's a "scam"? Are they asking you to send the money via Western Union?

The seller appears to have been pretty straightforward on condition - pics showing cracks, etc. Time to pay up. If something goes wrong you'll have to file a claim with eBay.

Other than having a certificate of authenticity, you cannot know for certain if it was "pro owned" as described. Ebay is not where you want to lay that kind of trust. However, I agree with the rest of the gang. Looks like a legit bass and add. It also looks as though a bidder with no feedback history initially ran this thing up. That's a little currious looking. Your had the last second winning bid. Congrats and enjoy.

Looks legit to me. I've encountered (and subsequently reported) a number of eBay scams and this one doesn't raise any red flags. However, I'm always skeptical about the authenticity of "pro-owned" claims. And Fender counterfeits abound these days, especially on Craigslist. Regardless, it's a pretty sweet looking P-bass you've won there. $840 is a great price for a '77 P assuming that it arrives as described.

Thank you, Everyone. i really appreciate you responses. I asked the seller about my cocerns, and he said that he is Andy Cichon, the bass player himself and that he would not hesitate to play this bass tonight at Madison Square Garden if needed. i am waiting for the current picture of him and the bass. i think i might be too cautious. i live in US, but i am from Belarus originally. maybe, that's why. thanks again.

Is a requirement on your part that he actually BE Andy Cichon? Not meaning to offend, but if I were the seller I might be worrying about you as the buyer at this point. By all counts it seems to be a legit sale and when using eBay you have to have a certain amount of faith, and hope that if something goes wrong you have eBay/PayPal protection to fall back on.
