I don't know if it's just me ,but curios if anyone obsesses over wood like art work? What happens is I buy some new very buitiful wood And I get a connection to it like I'm looking at a piece of art

So, if you really like the wood do you put it in your attic? 
(And yes, despite the fact that my only DB is aluminum, I also obsess over nice wood. Although I don't think I'm addicted.)

I'm kinda goofy over wood. Really bugs me when you'll see a nicely designed/constructed building/space, and the trim, railings, etc are pedestrian. We used to attend a UU church, and it really irritated me that, in the sanctuary, it seemed as though they intentionally made it such that no 2 wooden items were of the same wood, finish, etc. It is a very frequent occurrence that my wife and i will be out somewhere and one or the other of us will point out a particularly beautiful wood grain.

If beautiful wood is mother nature's art, the rafters in my workshop are as expressive as the walls of the MET....
I am with you on this.
The knowledge that most objects of fine wood are made by hand, with skill, from trees older then my grandparents, really adds to the appeal.

I’m that way with rocks… When hiking I’m always collecting rocks. The older I get the heavier my pack gets.

We toured the Gamble House - an amazing Arts and Crafts house in Pasadena. Astounding wood everywhere. They said they restored everything as best they could to original condition - with one exception. When the home was built, they wanted to do everything as up-to-daye as possible, so they covered up the beautiful birds-eye maple kitchen floor with linoleum!
Once they pulled up the worn linoleum and saw what was underneath, they just couldn't bear to cover it up again!

This is my cellist's. Recent build out of several hundred year old poplar. And it sounds as good as it looks!
