If you have removed the dead speaker, it's even worse. The big hole in the cab can cause the other speakers to be damaged...it's almost like they're not in an enclosure at all.

basically you're getting rid of a quarter of the impedance, or the opposition to current/voltage. That means the other 3 speakers are picking up the slack.

it's not a good idea, you could be running your speakers hotter than they should be.

Listen to Rick, the impedence change is a little problem, the radical change in your box (either w/ 1 undriven speaker, or a 10inch hole) is much bigger. Think excursion!

Try to borrow a cab, seriously.

You can do it, and I have,
but its not the best idea.
