pamper and savor your Squier bass the way other people take care of their vintage Fenders?
Is it wrong to refer to it as the best bass in the existence and sometimes, yes, you give it a little kiss on the headstock. For good night or something.
I can't afford a Fender since I'm a student on a tight budget, but my Squier CV Jazz just screams that Fender old vintage vibe and I had to save up for a few months and wait for some cash influx.
Others would use that bass as a backup or just to try it out if the hype was right, but to me, that bass is my main precious gem and I can't help but smile every time I touch it and see it.
I can't help but feel that the bass is somehow special and unique.
Any other "cheaper-bass" players who put their bass on the pedestal?

There isn't nothing wrong with having respect for your instrument, "treat it right and it will treat you right", that's what I was taught. Ultimately, aside from the abandoning of important responsibilities, no harm will come from you spending too much time or attention to your bass.

My cheapo fretless (only £44) is highly coveted by me but that is because I built it over the holidays and it took 2 months to complete it. It gets played more than my other basses.

There is nothing--absolutely nothing whatsoever--lowly about the Squier CVs.

Forget the headstock--they are great instruments, period.

There's nothing wrong with pampering your Squier. The better you take care of it the longer it will last and the longer it will keep sounding good. There are many threads on here about cleaning and taking care of your bass. I've had my Squier for two years and it looks just as good today as the I day I brought it home. Kissing it is another problem, I think they have doctors for that, just kidding.
