Don't put stickers on your bass as god forbid it might cover the AAAAA quilted maple top and the mother of pearl hardware you have, and maybe hide the fact that you have a boutique bass that everyone is soooooo impressed by.

I have never nor will ever put a sticker on any of my instruments two reasons. One, instruments are a work of art in themselves and should not be ruined by something as silly as a sticker. And two, I find it to be unprofessional or harmful to your image as a musician. I see someone with a sticker on their instrument and think "this guy is either a beginner or a rock star wanna be"

It's your bass. Do what you want with it. One of my basses is beat up and heavily modified, so it gets the stickers.

I had one on a pickguard of a bass and when i decided to take it off, i had to clean it and stuff so I would recommend putting them on the pickguard only but that being said, you can do whatever you want, it is your bass!

If you're asking if it's "okay", you are already asking the wrong question. If you ask whether it hurts resale value or "will this pentagram look weird at a smooth jazz gig?" then that's something we can answer! I've got basses I sticker with glee and others I would never think of doing that to. It's also like asking if you like your dates to have tattoos or not, asking us if it's okay is not going to answer anything for you other than "What do other people with opinions think?".

Just make sure you slap one of these on it

As it looks like, from your other thread, you are brand new to this and this would be your first bass. I would suggest you NOT do anything to the bass that will seriously decrease the value or potential re-sell potential.

If you practice and stay with it, then you are going to want to trade/ sell this to get something better.

If you try it and it does not work for you, you will probably want to sell this to get rid of it and get at least SOME of the money back.

I never traded/sold my first bass. From other threads, it seems a lot of people didn't, either. Also first basses are often budget instruments with little to no resale value anyway. It's not like someone is stickering up a Stambaugh.

I couldn't get rid of it; it was a christmas present from my mother and now-deceased father.

Some guys here use really thick stickers, and like 'em so much they screw them to their bassess. There's a gang of them running around this place. For some reason they think their color of stickers are better than others. The gang calls their stickers "tort".

Yep. It's funny when they pooh pooh other people's stickers, when that's all tort really is.

It really depends on the scene. Would I use my Peavey for a wedding gig? Absolutely not; it'd be one of my Rickenbackers, which are stickerless. But I've used it for hard rock and doom metal shows aplenty, in all its hideously modified and stickered glory.

My car has stickers from the previous owner. It's okay, though, they're just OSU and State Parks stickers.

My Peavey has stickers of bands I like. And an "I Voted" sticker.
