Is my 3 Leaf Audio Octabvre broken/defective?

Hey all,

I just got my 3 Leaf Audio Octabvre in the mail, and the general tone sounds good, but it gets quite "glitchy", particularly when I go towards the bottom range of the bass. One of the selling points of this pedal is that it's supposed to have quite improved tracking at the bottom range, and my pedal doesn't seem to be living up to that. I've recorded a video to demonstrate what I mean. Sometimes it hits the note the octave below, only to switch to a different note unbidden. The guy who sold me the pedal, without going into it, was being a bit odd as well, so I don't know what to think. Thoughts?

Not sure whether yours is broken.

For my sub - an Iron Ether FMeron - it has excellent tracking if you play in a very careful, monophonic way with the tone turned down. But it's infinitely possible to make it glitch too. Any open string plucked and left long enough will eventually 'glitch' as it notes the wavering of the frequency just like a tuning pedal can.

[so many typos]

Try playing closer to the neck, turn the treble and tone knob down if you have them and experiment with your mids. Octave pedals respond differently to everybody’s playing technique. Try a light touch as well as more aggressive touch. Make sure your left hand is muting everything but the note you are playing.

Interesting. My tone knob was turned all the way down for this.

Analog octaves have tone for days but need technique adjustments to work at their best. Muting notes, sympathetic resonances and anything that would prevent the octave from replicating a solid note need to be focused on.

yours sounds generally fine to me.
