Is Squier coming out with anything new in 2018?

I'm pretty sure the Jaguar SS is getting replaced, but I don't know by what, nor when.
I've got my fingers crossed they bring back the Squier VM Mustang at some point,
but it wouldn't be a replacement for the Jag SS.

Why would they replace the Jag SS? It seems like a good selling product,
Nope. I quite frankly feel like Squier basses are on their way out. I don't understand why. The basses are of great quality and they seem to sell nicely. But it sure looks to me like the entire line of basses is DOA. I know it sounds crazy but my Spidey-sense is tingling in the direction of no more new Squier basses period, ever. The Gary Jarman medium-scale P was promised and seemingly never appeared at all and that's a harbinger of bad things to come.

In Japan here, the market for entry level basses are many and it seems like the Squier is not all a major seller these days. At least what I see in the music stores here.
I don't know why they'd be afraid of competing with their own line... their BUDGET line at that....
What information could you possibly base that claim on? That's a cold take if I've ever heard one. Squier is the only thing that makes the brand money. New people entering the niche is what drives sales. Custom Shop/US Pro sales keep the lights on but Squier heats the place.
I hear you. I definitely hope I'm wrong but the total lack of activity on the bass front is not a good sign.
Because if the budget line makes basses that play and sound just as good, there is no real reason the cost-conscious buyer should pay the difference for a different decal on the headstock.
I believe that Sweetwater has the silver in stock and show that the black and red should be in stock soon. I would doubt that they would cut a product that is selling well.
Just bought the best Squier made.
Might just buy one tomorrow.

I didn't like it when they dropped the Classic Vibe line and thought they should have a few more like the Inca Silver and James Johnston Jazz…red, white, black, green, whatever with matching headstocks and high-mass bridge.

Squier is here to stay. MIM standard basses cost twice as much as VM squiers. MIM used to be what squier is today.
They should bring the Matt Freeman P bass back, I have so much regret selling that thing 5 years ago.
