Is the Hartke VX3500 a good rig?

I know not another is ? good or is ? better thread. I am sorry in advance but have a chance to score what I hope you guys all say is a good solid reliable rig. It is the Hartke VX3500 combo. I like the 410 setup with the head built in. Please give me an honest opinion if you have owned or own this rig. The price is 350.

I have had a VX3500 and was very pleased with it.

It is durable, loud and versatile. If this is going to be your first rig, you are settled for years.

I am currently using a Crate BX-100. Sorry for not adding that, so yes this would be my first real rig I guess. I have played smaller gigs with the Crate but its just not enough. I want something that I will be set for a while.

i had a hartke HA3500 head paired with a VX 410 cab and it sounded fantastic. played it probably for 6 years every weekend with NO problem at all. i imagine that sounds very similar to the VX3500 combo. the only reason i stopped playing it is because i wanted more power in a smaller package. so i got a SWR Redhead 210C. the Hartke was very comparable at less than half of the price.

MoeTown1986, you just gave me more interest in getting a vx3500 for myself! i read somewhere that this combo started smoking after six months of regular use, but you've used it for 6 years with no problem.

I used one of those once, and I found it annoying that you cannot turn off the tweeter.
For the rest it's just a great Hartke 3500 amp.

Wow! Revived and old thread. I still stand behind it. That Hartke setup I had got me started in gigging and never let me down. I've never heard of one smoking. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
