Is the toneport for me?

I did a search and found a template Hunta posted. This is not my template.

1) How many inputs do you need? What type (1/4", XLR, MIDI, etc)?

2) What platform are you recording on? Mac, PC, Linux?
PC - windows Vista
3) What make/model computer do you have?
Asus F3sr, 2gb ram, 1.66 x2 Intel centrino duo, realtek Hd soundcard?
4) What are you recording? Guitar, drums, bass, vocals, horns, etc? How many things are you recording at the same time?
I will record guitar and bass seperately.
5) What sequencer are you using? Pro Tools, Cubase, Sonar, Logic, Reaper?
Line 6 Gearbox, Audacity
6) What is your goal for your recordings? Post on myspace? Make a CD? Youtube vids? Just for fun? (ie, how important is sound quality)
Post for Youtube vids, share with my friends - good quality though
7) What other recording equipment do you have, if any? (mics, DI boxes, preamps, whatever)
Just a Sansamp Bass Driver DI and instrument cables
8) How much are you willing to spend?
Up to £100

Sorry for all the questions:
So is the line 6 toneport for me?
If so is it worth the extra money for a UX2?
Will high output guitars / DI's damage the toneport?
Finally is it Vista compatible?

I rather liked the toneport when I used it myself. It's a nice little box, though it did feel a little flimsy to me just made out of plastic like it is.

I think it is worth the money for the UX2, because you never know when it'll come in handy, and believe me, if you have it you'll realize there's tons of ways to use it.

High output instruments won't damage the toneport, no. It's even got a -10Db pad on it to help with that. You'll just need to keep the gain down whenever you use a high output instrument.

It would work with Vista, yes.
