No, the editor just controls the CC/PC commands that the pedal has, but it's just easier to set things up.
Wet volume control should be enough to tame the volume spikes anyway, because it's the wet signal that can get too loud, your dry signal never goes above unity and the mix control takes care of the ratio. I think the wet control is mostly useful if your signal is too high when your mix is 100% wet (like maybe synth algo etc).

Based on your latest comments, I think that my original observation stands:

With all the mixing possibilities, net volume can be a challenge. If you work to tame it, great. Otherwise, often it's not great.

I'm not seeing any dedicated control for adjusting net volume, neither in the pedal nor (by your description) in the editor.
