Is there a Genz Benz Shuttle 9.0 equivalent?

I've used a Genz Benz Shuttle 9.0 for a little shy of a decade. It's been run through Mark Bass cabinets nearly the whole time, nowadays usually one 15" (MB58R Energy) or a combo of that and a 2x10. I love the sound.

Any recommendations for a similar head to backup or even replace the Genz?

My ear prefers high-end frequencies and a bit of drive. I play a range of room sizes, restaurants to casinos and outdoor events, and the Shuttle 9.0 has handled what I need. It's listed as 500W/8ohm and 900W/4ohm for reference.

It MAY be encouraging if this was only studio-used. These type of ads are common in the Nashville area, as there are simply a LOT of studios, both commercial and many home setups, some of them quite complete. I am not connected to this seller in any way, I just saw this and then this thread, and well, there you go. 'Pre-Fender' Genz Benz it says . . . .

Yeah, the pre-Fender nomenclature! There is zero difference between pre and post-Fender amps, they are built exactly the same, with the same parts, same labor, same everything.

forgive me if, as a long-time tber, i'm supposed to know this already but,

do you have a stand alone business / website where such things would be available to check out?

i'm not in the market now but want to try a shuttle 9.2 one of these days. i've only ever heard rave reviews of that amp.

It’s just a byproduct of the Genz Benz factory service business, occasionally a player will sell off an amp needing major repairs or simply changes their mind and decides not to go forward with a repair. There are also some new old stock amps (GBE-400/600, NeoX-400 and ML-200) available from service stock. There’s no website for this, just message me.

Does a 53 week gap make this a zombie thread?

Anyhow, I just picked up a used Shuttle 9.0 and I'm really loving the voice of this amp.
The Shuttle has a preamp tube but doesn't have (what is typically seen as) a "tubey" sound.

I love tube amps, and when it's just me at home, I enjoy the warmth and give of tubes.
But when I start digging in with a band, I need the tightness and attack of a solid-state amp.

I've been a GK user for years and that sound still feels like home.

This Shuttle 9.0 is giving me a different take.
The Shuttle's EQ points and overall voice are different, but the punch and immediacy are familiar, and welcome.

One issue: I'm not sure if the fan is working.

The manual says:
FAN COOLING – The chassis is cooled via a thermal sensing fan design.
The fan is always ON but will increase in speed as demand on the amp increases.
But I haven't been able to get this amp's fan to run at all so far.

I read in other Shuttle 9.0 threads that there had been cooling system updates over the production run of the amp.

So I'm trying to figure out if:
1) the thermal sensor was updated to keep the fan off until it detects a temperature increase, or
2) if the cooling circuit on this amp is damaged or tampered with (the headphone out was clearly replaced)

I have to return the amp within 48 hours if there's a defect - so I'd like to figure it out ASAP.

The fan should run all the time on all Shuttle amps. If it's not running, there is an issue.

This is the sort of the thing (plus others, including any outstanding factory updates) that's addressed in the factory service program, maybe the seller will contribute to getting the amp taken care of rather than returning it? I would especially consider this if the amp is in good cosmetic condition otherwise.
